Hear new ZZ Top - Flyin’ High

Last month, new music from ZZ Top was circling the globe in the hands of Astronaut Michael Fossum on his way to the International Space Station via a Russian spacecraft.

The opportunity to debut the song “Flyin’ High” in space was too good to miss. “We figured it’d be the perfect song to pass along to the astronauts,” guitarist Billy Gibbons tells Mojo.

The new project was produced by Rick Rubin and will be released before the end of the year.

“It sounds and feels like ‘Tres Hombres,’ with a few elements of the ‘Eliminator’ period thrown in,” says Gibbons. “A pretty wide range, from basic blues to slightly more fancy stuff.”

ZZ Top just completed a European tour and kicks off a series of North American dates this weekend in New York state.
