Slash rocks Phineas and Ferb movie soundtrack

Most rock fans wouldn’t think of guitar hero Slash as a Disney guy and, if he wasn’t before, he officially will be in about 2 weeks.

On August 2, Disney releases the soundtrack to their movie “Phineas and Ferb: Across The 2nd Dimension,” and Slash is featured on one of the tracks.

"Slash is a rock icon, he's our hero,”
says executive producer Dan Povenmire. “We wanted a song that encapsulated the feeling of the series as well as the movie. Slash saw the movie with his kids and he liked it so much, he said, 'Hey, let's write a song together!' It was really a dream come true."

The result is “Kick It Up A Notch,” the song that plays over the film’s closing credits. The soundtrack also features seven new tracks and 15 songs from the animated series.

A video for the Slash song premieres July 22 on The Disney Channel, while the film itself sees its premiere August 5 on Disney.
