Sammy Hagar rocks night 3 in Cabo

Sammy Hagar brought his own house down Tuesday night in Cabo, and hennemusic carried the show live for fans around the globe.

Hagar, along with the Wabos and special guests, played an 80-minute set heavy on hits, classics and fan favorites at the Red Rocker’s club, the Cabo Wabo Cantina.

With Michael Anthony on bass, Victor Johnson on guitar and drummer David Lauser, the guys rocked through Hagar hits like “Can’t Drive ‘55” and “Heavy Metal,” and the classic Montrose track, “Rock Candy.”

It was rotating drummer night for the Wabos, who were joined by guests Vinnie Paul (Pantera, Damageplan, Hellyeah), Rage Against The Machine’s Brad Wilk, and new Chickenfoot sticksman Kenny Aronoff.

Paul joined in for some Van Halen tracks, including “Poundcake,” “Runnin’ With The Devil” (featuring Anthony on vocals), and “Finish What Ya Started.”

Wilk sat in for some songs, including the Hagar-ized version of the Beastie Boys“Fight For Your Right.”

Aronoff climbed behind the kit towards the end of the show for some Led Zeppelin covers: “Whole Lotta Love” and the set-ending, “Rock And Roll.”

Sammy turns 64 on Thursday; below is video from a previous Birthday Bash at Cabo along with audio of the Zeppelin covers from Tuesday night.
