Slash: Song titles from next album surface

This month, Slash and his band are in the studio working on his second solo release, due out next spring.

The crew have a bunch of material to work with, according to bassist Todd Kerns, who updated fans about things on his blog October 2, “We have been working on riffs for a while…since we were on the road, even. Those riffs have ballooned to almost 20 songs and growing. We have been hard at it in several writing sessions and are now in the midst of 2 weeks rehearsal. We’ll be entering Barefoot Studios with Eric Valentine in a few days to start work on the first few songs. We’ll finish up the record before the end of the year.”

On Tuesday, Slash posted that he played a few things for That Metal Show host Eddie Trunk, and received some very positive feedback.

“Just back from the studio. Ruff mixes sound great. Played a few for Eddie Trunk. Said he dug it. I'm doing TMS 2morrow, we'll see.”

For his part, Trunk posted details later the same day, and raves about the new work-in-progress:

“Just left a studio where @Slash gave me a sneak listen to 3 new songs from his upcoming album with @MylesKennedy Killer kick ass stuff!”

“For those asking for more info on the @Slash album I can tell you the 3 songs I heard are heavy with killer riffs and vocals. Out next April”

“It's the same band that he has been touring with last couple years on the album, and it sounds more cohesive because of it. Really strong!”

“Finally @Slash said it was okay to reveal the song titles for the 3 tracks I heard; "Halo", "Standing In The Sun" & "Bad Rain". Great stuff”

Slash’s new live set - “Slash: Made In Stoke – 24/7/11” - will be released November 15 on DVD and Blu-ray.
