With his new memoir, “Iron Man: My Journey Through Heaven And Hell With Black Sabbath,” out now in parts of the world (US publish date is November 1), Iommi has begun his UK book-signing tour and doing plenty of media interviews.
Reluctant to tease fans about a reunion that may never come, Tony originally shared news that Sabbath things were in motion during what he thought was an ‘off the record’ conversation with a UK reporter he thought he could trust, back in June. Those details were eventually published in mid-August, leading to Iommi offering a public apology to his bandmates for letting the heavy metal cat out of the bag.
Since that time, Ozzy Osbourne – who also has a book to promote (“Trust Me, I’m Dr. Ozzy”) - has spoken about it, recently telling Billboard, "Yes, it's a very, very strong possibility," he says of getting the old band back together. "It's in the very early stages, so we haven't recorded anything yet. If it works out, it'll work out. If it doesn't, I'll keep doing my thing."
Now, Iommi adds a little more to the Sab story, telling Terrorizer, “We’ve had a rehearsal and played some of the old stuff, and to be together again was great. We’re all on good terms and we’re at a stage where we can play together again. It would be good if we could, and I suppose it’s the closest it’s been to be able to do that. It could happen!”
Iommi also spoke about another project that may be in the works – check out Terrorizer for those details here.
