VIDEO: Bush cover Fleetwood Mac’s Landslide

Bush reunited in 2011 after years apart, playing shows and delivering “The Sea Of Memories” release.

Working with producer Bob Rock on the new project, it was the group’s first album in 10 years.

As the calendar gets set to flip to a new year, Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale has offered up his thoughts on the reunion, his motivation and need to resurrect the band, and how they all came together again after so many years apart.

Here’s an excerpt:

A note from me to you dec. 2011

Where do I start?
Perhaps my insomnia, unfinished business, cold sweats,
Regret, desire, ambition and creativity-- all
Compelled me to actually do what I had been dreaming of since…..well since always it feels like….
To go back to bush
To speed in the ride of my life
To make sense of what was missing so bad…

It was an easy decision because the drive came from within.
And support ? not so much…but that’s ok
It was my world, my truth, my desire and my freedom I was seeking…
Why would anyone else even have the time let alone the foresight to hear me.to really understand what I wanted.

It was not based on any kind of expectation.
It was not a stepping stone.
It was a need to be where I belong.

Rossdale goes on to explain how the band rebuilt itself from the ground up, and thanks fans at length for the ongoing support and interaction.

“We wanted to show you our appreciation by posting a new video purely for your enjoyment. It’s 100 per cent live,” writes Rossdale.

And with that, fans get a live, rooftop acoustic performance of the Fleetwood Mac classic, “Landslide.”
