Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott took the stage Sunday night in Birmingham to help a friend and fellow bandmate.
The Birmingham Mail reports the event was a benefit show to raise money for the man described as Def Leppard’s “sixth member.”
Elliott took part in Doin’ The Decent Thing at the Roadhouse in Stirchley – a fundraiser for Dick Decent, from Dudley, who has toured with Def Leppard as their keyboard player.
The 51-year-old, who runs the Decent Pie Studios in Dudley, was struck down with fluoroquinolone toxicity two years ago, which is a little-known illness caused by poisoning after taking antibiotics.
It means Dick often struggles to walk, get out of bed, work or perform on stage.
The money raised at the gala event, with bands including the E Numbers and Uriah Heep, will go towards more treatment for Decent.
Def Leppard kicked off a UK tour with Motley Crue and Steel Panther on Tuesday in Birmingham; the 6-date trek wraps up on the 14th at London’s Wembley Arena.
