VIDEO: Mini Band stunned by Metallica support

The Mini Band are a group of little rockers with big dreams.

The Mini Band is Zoe Thomson, Harry Jackson and Kieran Fell on guitar, Harrison Read on lead vocals, Archie Zolotuhin on bass guitar and Charlie Emmons on drums. The guitarist and vocalist are 8 years old, the bassist and drummer are 10 years old.

The Thatcham, UK group went global a few months ago when live videos of them rocking some Metallica and Guns N’ Roses tracks at a small UK town festival went viral (hennemusic covered the story here).

A few weeks later, Metallica themselves posted a message for the band, congratulating them for carrying on the rock n’ roll tradition (see hennemusic’s coverage here).

Now, the BBC has caught up with The Mini Band to see how they’re dealing with their new found global fame.

The group say they’ve been inundated with offers from around the world after the YouTube video went viral.

Before heading onstage for a fundraising concert in Newbury, in aid of Naomi House children's hospice, the band were surprised with a video message from Metallica, recorded in LA.
