Another track from the forthcoming Van Halen album, “A Different Kind Of Truth,” has surfaced.
“Bullethead” is a heavy riff rocker and, like some of the other tunes on the project, is a song with a VH past.
While an old demo/studio version has never appeared, the unreleased original was performed on New Year’s Eve 1978 at The Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, CA.
According to the Van Halen Encyclopedia, “Bullethead” was written in one day in 1977 in the group’s rehearsal space – the basement of David Lee Roth's parents' home – the same day the band wrote “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love.”
The updated version of the song includes the new album’s title in its lyrics; “A Different Kind Of Truth” will be released on February 7.
