The London Evening Standard reported Floyd were to reunite and perform at the 2012 Olympics, marking their first show since 2005’s Live 8 event.
The NME reports there is no truth to the rumors, as a representative for guitarist David Gilmour contacted the music publication to deny the story.
"David Gilmour can confirm that there is no truth in recent media speculation about Pink Floyd re-uniting to perform for the 2012 London Olympics,” was the official word.
On May 12, 2011, surviving Floyd members Roger Waters, Nick Mason and Gilmour briefly reunited onstage at Roger's solo concert to perform at London's The O2.
The 2012 Olympics Closing ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, August 12; still no official word on who the major headliners are for the London event.
