Van Halen tops the hennemusic Hot 10 for 2nd week

Music fans are hot for Van Halen news, as the band tops the hennemusic Hot 10 for the second consecutive week.

VH recently picked up hennemusic’s 2011 Rock News Artist Of The Year and Rock News Story Of The Year honors, which are determined by readers; as a result, the group also topped the list of Rockers To Watch in 2012.

Proving that those honors were no fluke is VH’s complete domination of the first HH10 of the new year, where they owned 9 of the 10 spots – a first in HH10 history.

The only non-VH artist to hit the list was former Journey singer Steve Perry.

It’s been quite a week for starving VH fans, as details about their first new album with David Lee Roth in 28 years emerged throughout the past seven days, including confirmation that “A Different Kind Of Truth” is the new title, “Tattoo” is the first single, the Deluxe Edition includes a DVD of acoustic performances, 2012 tour dates were released, and they created a huge buzz by playing a media-only club show in New York City.

Topping all the VH news for hennemusic readers was, oddly enough, a non-musical item: NBC weatherman Al Roker refusing to switch seats with Alex Van Halen and his wife on an American Airlines flight from L.A. to the Big Apple early in the week.

Roker reportedly buried his face in his smartphone and pretended to block out his surroundings while the Van Halens and AA staff politely requested he switch seats so that Alex and his wife could sit next to each other.

The HH10 is a list of the most-viewed rock news stories in the past week by hennemusic readers.
