Van Halen rocked the L.A. Forum Wednesday night at the band’s ‘family and friends’ final dress rehearsal for their 2012 tour.
The 70-minute set featured classic VH tracks and four songs from the new album, “A Different Kind Of Truth,” including “China Town,” “Blood And Fire,” “She’s The Woman” and the first single, “Tattoo.”
David Lee Roth recently spoke about the band’s live performance, telling The Guardian, “The Van Halens went to Ridgemont High,” began Dave. “Ever see the movie? That was their high school – 98% Jeff Spiccoli and home of the monster riff and every ending to every song should sound like world war nine or just the end of the world. Who does endings better than Van Halen live? I'll send you a ticket. I'm ready to argue this. Unarguably the best endings ever, right? They sound like the end of everything. Biblical.”
The Van Halen North American tour starts February 18 in Louisville, Kentucky, with openers Kool & The Gang.
