Slash has offered up the 7th and final installment of his webisode series on the making of his new album, “Apocalytpic Love.”
The footage shows Slash and the band working on the album, and discussing their approach to its recording.
“The thing about recording to tape is that you can’t go back and do whatever everybody does with [digital multitrack software] Pro Tools…which is fix everything,” explains Slash. “You have to do a good enough performance because, ya, you can overdub something or you can punch in/punch out or whatever, but really, the whole rhythm performance and all the parts have to be played as tight as possible, cause that’s how it works.”
“This is very straight up rock and roll from the hip,” adds singer Myles Kennedy.
“Apocalyptic Love” will be released May 22.
