Guns N’ Roses fans were very disappointed to hear this week’s comments by Slash that the band will not reunite their classic lineup to perform at the band’s upcoming Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction.
“We’re not playing,” Slash told the Toronto Sun. “I would imagine that they asked us to play but I know that we’re not playing.”
Slash’s words echo a tweet posted by a staff member at Envision Radio Networks – while using Rock Hall musical director Paul Shaffer’s twitter account – that leaked the news two weeks ago.
Now, a current GNR guitarist is saying he’d like to see the reunion happen.
During an online video chat this week, DJ Asha was asked about his thoughts on the Rock Hall event.
"The one thing I don't understand about the Hall Of Fame is nobody's f**king talking, nobody's talking about it,” he said. “I just don't, I don't get it. In my opinion, I think it's a huge honor. I think it would be awesome to see, you know, everybody [from the classic GNR lineup] get up on stage and put all the differences aside for one night and just give the fans what they want. To me, that makes the most sense.”
“But I have no idea what's gonna go down, because there has been zero talk about it so far,” added Ashba. “I wish I could tell you more. Whatever happens, that night's gonna be exciting. I'm anxious to see what happens.”
The Rock Hall induction ceremony happens April 14 in Cleveland.

Guns N Roses being inducted into the Hall of Fame before Kiss or Cheap Trick is proof that the voters are all on drugs and should be fired and I'm speaking for every 40, 50 or 60 year old Classic Rock music lover. While I like GNR, they do not have the longevity or amount of music from either of these bands and I highly suspect even they realize that they are not as deserving before the other two get in first.
sorry but KISS just sucks IMO, they are a pop band, its not about how much music you make its about how significant that music is and KISS doesn't have 1 song that is more revered than the top 5 GnR tunes. Cheap Trick is a better candidate but again, not better songs overall, in fact, given their limited output, its amazing how many iconic songs GnR have.
Guns is being inducted because of the style of music they wrote. They had a unique blend of Hard Rock, and combined it several different styles, The heaviest being the punk/rock influences in their music. It was their own sound. Not to mention that they did this against the current machine model for rock groups at the tome. They were raw and much needed. Ps Huge UPS to you DJ for being such a class act! Funny, seems like Guns N Roses members have more class then most these days ey? Irony at its best! Cheers :}
