Guns N’ Roses will join Aerosmith for Hollywood Bowl shows

Guns N’ Roses will join Aerosmith as special guests for their return to the stage at the Hollywood Bowl later this month.

Set for October 29 and November 1, “California, Dream On: Aerosmith & Friends” is billed as a concert celebration honoring the iconic Boston band.

The event brings together iconic artists who have previously performed or recorded with Aerosmith and a new wave of stars who cite the band among their ultimate musical influences.

Guns N' Roses joins an extraordinary lineup of superstar artists and special guests including The Black Crowes, RUN DMC, Heart, Billy Idol, Eric Church, Sammy Hagar, Tom Morello, Marcus King, Jerry Cantrell, Chad Smith, Nuno Bettencourt, Pat Monahan, Steve Stevens, Sully Erna, Andrew Watt, Adam Wakeman, Audley Freed, Kenny Aronoff and many more.

The lineup will vary each night, with final nightly lineups to be announced at or near showtime and are subject to change.

Tickets are now on sale for both shows.

Aerosmith’s return comes two years after the band announced its retirement from touring due to a vocal injury Steven Tyler suffered at the start of a farewell tour in 2024.

Slash previews new album with Myles Kennedy And The Conspirators

Slash Ft Myles Kennedy And The Conspirators are sharing “Flying Blind” as the lead single and title track to their forthcoming new album.

Due for release on February 26, 2027 via Gibson Records, the band’s fifth studio album was recorded largely live with longtime producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette at Studio Barbarosa in Florida.

The 12-track album captures Slash on guitar and pedal steel, Myles Kennedy on vocals, Todd Kerns on bass, Brent Fitz on drums, and Frank Sidoris on rhythm guitar at their most immediate, instinctive, and tightly connected. The band completed the bulk of the record in approximately one week, often recording two songs a day with the musicians performing together in the same room.

"It's a really fun, kind of spontaneous rock 'n' roll record," says Slash. "It's very straightforward and down-to-earth and raw."

SMKC have also announced the Flying Blind World Tour 2027, an extensive international run launching in Latin America in April before reaching North America on April 23 and continuing through the United Kingdom and Europe. The North American tour includes two nights at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, as well as performances at New York City's Beacon Theatre, Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, Boston's Citizens House of Blues, Denver's Fillmore Auditorium, and other landmark venues. Fans can sign up now for early access to tickets here.

Tickets go on sale to the general public October 9.

In celebration of the release of “Flying Blind”, SMKC have partnered with Fandiem to launch a special charitable sweepstakes giving fans the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Wales to meet Slash backstage at Cardiff Castle. Benefiting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the campaign offers one winner and a guest round-trip travel to Cardiff, a three-night hotel stay, tickets on SLASH's guestlist for his performance at Cardiff Castle, backstage access to meet Slash, front-of-house viewing, access to pre-show soundcheck, a Slash merch pack, a South Wales sightseeing tour, and a pre-show dinner.

Fans can donate now and enter for a chance to win at www.fandiem.com/slash and take part in this exclusive experience while helping raise funds for two organizations dedicated to mental health and suicide prevention.

Rock News Artist Of The Year No. 10: GUNS N’ ROSES

Welcome to the 2025 hennemusic Rock News Awards.

Over the next ten days, we’ll be counting down the Top 10 Rock News Artists of the past year.

Finalists for the 16th annual hennemusic Rock News Awards are chosen by readers: the Rock News Story Of The Year is determined by page views, while the Rock News Artist Of The Year is based on the combined total page views of the top 50 hennemusic rock news stories of the past twelve months.

The 2025 hennemusic Rock News Awards winners will be announced on Wednesday, December 24.

Rock News Artist of The Year No. 10 – GUNS N’ ROSES

Guns N’ Roses ended last year by announcing a series of shows in Europe and The Middle East as part of a 2025 tour.

The events would see the rockers headline stadiums and festivals throughout the summer, and see them joined by special guests Public Enemy, Rival Sons and Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter on select dates.

In February, Ozzy Osbourne announced Guns N’ Roses would be among the artists added to the iconic singer’s farewell concert in Birmingham, UK in July.

“Guns N' Roses, Tool & Rival Sons added to Back To The Beginning!,” shared Ozzy on social media. “Plus Vernon Reid, Chad Smith, David Ellefson, Whitfield Crane & watt to the Tom Morello directed tribute. Event hosted by Jason Momoa.”

March saw Guns N’ Roses welcome drummer Isaac Carpenter to the band’s lineup following an amicable parting of the ways with longtime touring member Frank Ferrer.

Carpenter – whose career spans an impressive roster of acts, including live and studio work with Duff McKagan's Loaded, Awolnation, Adam Lambert, and A Perfect Circle, among others – would hit the road with the band throughout their 2025 European, Asian, and Middle East Tour, headlining stadiums and festivals throughout the summer.

In June, Guns N' Roses announced the second leg of their 2025 world tour, with new dates slated for the fall throughout Latin America.

Guns N’ Roses performed four Back Sabbath songs during its appearance at the UK band’s farewell concert event on July 5.

The group opened its set at Birmingham’s Villa Park with the 1972 “Technical Ecstasy” tune, “It’s Alright”, which was followed by the title track to 1978’s “Never Say Die!” and its deep cut, “Junior’s Eyes”, as well as the title track to 1973’s “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath” – before closing with “Welcome To The Jungle” and “Paradise City.”

“My first time meeting Axl Rose,” shared Ozzy on social media, “at my age you don’t get to meet many legends, seriously an utter gentleman.”

Late in the year, Guns N’ Roses announced they will hit the road again in the spring and summer of 2026, while also issuing two new songs - “Nothin” and “Atlas” - marking their first releases since 2023.

"Was hard as I imagine for anyone to watch his struggles while at the same time everyone was rooting for him and massively respecting the challenges he took head on and he did it! Was great to meet Ozzy's family and see friends and peeps in all the bands and the business. A huge thank you again to Ozzy, Sharon, Black Sabbath and all the fans for having us!"

Guns N’ Roses welcome new drummer to lineup

Guns N’ Roses have announced the addition of drummer Isaac Carpenter to the band’s lineup following an amicable parting of the ways with longtime touring member Frank Ferrer.

Carpenter will hit the road with the band throughout their 2025 European, Asian, and Middle East Tour, headlining stadiums and festivals throughout the summer; the series starts May 1 in South Korea.

Born in Washington's Tri-Cities, Carpenter is an accomplished American drummer and songwriter known for his dynamic contributions to alternative, hard rock, and beyond. He rose to prominence in 1995 by co-founding Loudermilk while in high school, only to be signed to Rick Rubin's label American. Carpenter's career spans an impressive roster of acts, including live and studio work with Duff McKagan's Loaded, Awolnation, Adam Lambert, the hardcore metal outfit Barbarians of California, A Perfect Circle, The Exies, Ours, and Black Lab, in addition to his large session film and TV roster. Carpenter has made a name for himself by uniquely blending versatility and groove with crushing force and technical skill, cementing his reputation as a multifaceted drummer in the industry.

As for Ferrer, “the band thanks Frank for his friendship, creativity, and sturdy presence over the past 19 years, and they wish him success in the next chapter of his musical journey.”

“Frank first joined GNR during a show in June 2006 helping anchor the rhythm section during subsequent tours, including their recent outings featuring the reunited trio of Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan. His last show with the band took place November 5, 2023 in Mexico.”

Watch Axl Rose join Billy Joel for Wings classic in Los Angeles

Axl Rose joined Billy Joel for the Paul McCartney And Wings classic, “Live And Let Die”, during the pianist’s October 12 show at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, CA, and fan-filmed video from the event is streaming online.

The show marked the latest appearance by Rose with Joel this year, following a July 25 guest slot during the final night of Joel’s decade-long residency at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

The series saw Joel play the iconic New York venue once a month between January 2014 and July 2024.

Guns N’ Roses recorded a cover of “Live And Let Die” as part of the band’s 1991 album, “Use Your Illusion I”, and issued the track as the project’s second single back in the day.

Axl Rose recently joined Billy Joel for the final night of his decade-long residency at New York’s Madison Square Garden, and fan-filmed video from the event is streaming online.

Rose first took the stage to deliver covers of the 1973 Paul McCartney & Wings hit, “Live And Let Die”, and AC/DC’s 1979 classic, “Highway To Hell”; he returned to join Joel for the event finale of the singer’s 1980 hit, “You May Be Right.”

“BIG THANKS to Billy Joel, Everyone in the band, the Fans, the Crew, NY n’ MSG!!,” shared Rose on social media. “Thanks for having me be a part of your Grand Finale!!🎉🥳 Was an HONOR!! Congratulations on an amazing, insane 150 Madison Square Garden performances!!”

The July 25 event marked Joel’s 150th lifetime show at the famed venue, where the piano man has redefined the concept of residency; the scope and ambition of Joel’s residency – where he has played once a month at Madison Square Garden since January 2014 – is unprecedented.

Upon launching the series a decade ago, Joel said it would run “as long as the demand continues.”

Throughout the course of the residency, Joel sold more than 1.9 million tickets to fans from all 50 US states and more than 120 countries – further establishing his status as a global icon.

Slash to launch new album with Jimmy Kimmel Live residency

Slash will celebrate the May 17 release of his new album, “Orgy Of The Damned”, with a multi-night residency on ABC-TV’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The guitarist will perform a selection of songs from the project with Cleto & The Cletones during appearances on the late night program on Monday, May 20, Tuesday, May 21, and Wednesday, May 22.

Slash’s sixth solo record is a star-studded blues album that saw him working with producer Mike Clink and a host of diverse guest vocalists, including Gary Clark Jr, Billy F. Gibbons, Chris Stapleton, Dorothy, Iggy Pop, Paul Rodgers, Demi Lovato, Brian Johnson, Tash Neal, Chris Robinson, and Beth Hart.

Rounding out his blues band in the studio and on the road, Slash reunited with two of his bandmates from his Blues Ball outfit in the 90s – bassist Johnny Griparic and keyboardist Teddy ‘ZigZag’ Andreadis – and brought on drummer Michael Jerome and singer/guitarist Tash Neal.

Slash launched “Orgy Of The Damned” with a cover of the 1964 Howlin’ Wolf classic, “Killing Floor”, where he was joined by Brian Johnson of AC/DC on vocals and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith on harmonica; the tune was followed by a version of Fleetwood Mac’s “Oh Well” that featured outlaw country star Chris Stapleton on vocals.

“Orgy Of The Damned” encompasses a broad range of styles within the blues genre, veering from an upbeat, rowdy take on Robert Johnson’s “Crossroads” to a plaintive, twanging rendition of T. Bone Walker’s “Stormy Monday.” Some of the songs, like Steppenwolf’s “The Pusher,” Charlie Segar’s “Key to the Highway” and Albert King’s “Born Under a Bad Sign,” had been performed by Slash’s Blues Ball while others, like Stevie Wonder’s “Living for the City,” were long-time favorites for Slash.
