VIDEO: Van Halen – rare 1981 video surfaces

A rare Van Halen video from 1981 has surfaced online.

A few weeks after the band completed its North American tour in support of the “Fair Warning” album, Van Halen were in Italy to film a TV appearance to further the promotion of the project.

Van Halen’s lip-sync performance of “Mean Street” was originally recorded November 14, 1981, and was re-broadcast this summer by Italian television channel Rai Storia.

Release in April of ’81, “Fair Warning” was the fourth studio album by Van Halen. Featuring classics like “Unchained,” Hear About It Later” and “So This Is Love?”, the record went on to sell more than two million copies.
