Van Halen’s David Lee Roth got tattooed on a recent trip to Japan.
The singer shared an image of his new body art with the Van Halen News Desk.
Roth had been in Japan for some time doing sword training with Shungendo monk Sueyoshi Akeshi. The singer has a lifelong history of martial arts training, which he says he began at the age of 12.
Van Halen were scheduled to play three shows in Japan in November; the “A Different Kind Of Truth” tour dates are being rescheduled to sometime in 2013 following news that Eddie Van Halen is recuperating after surgery for a severe bout of Diverticulitis that will have him sidelined through to the end of the year.
Eddie’s health issue, which flared up following the end of the first leg of the band’s tour, caused the postponement and eventual cancellation of a series of Van Halen concert dates across North America this summer, as well as the postponement of the Japanese shows.
