Eddie Van Halen made an appearance at the NAMM (National Association Of Music Merchants) show on Wednesday at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.
Video of Eddie’s visit to his EVH Gear booth has surfaced.
The EVH Stripe Series guitar features a basswood Stratocaster-style body decked out in Van Halen's famed striped graphics, in red with black stripes, black with yellow stripes and white with black stripes. The guitar also has a graphite-reinforced maple neck with a hand-rubbed oil finish and thumbwheel truss rod adjustment, compound-radius maple fingerboard (12"-16") with 22 jumbo frets and black dot inlays, and a single ferocious direct-mount Wolfgang humbucking pickup.
Other premium features include a single white volume control knob (labeled "tone"), single-ply black pickguard (white with black stripes model only), bar string retainer and Floyd Rose locking nut, EVH-branded Floyd Rose locking tremolo with EVH D-Tuna, EVH die-cast tuners, chrome hardware, vintage-style strap buttons and EVH neck plate.
The guitar is available in three finishes: red with black stripes, black with yellow stripes and white with black stripes, all for $1,199.98.
The guitar icon spent the last half of 2012 sidelined following surgery for a severe bout of Diverticulitis.
Eddie’s health issue forced the cancellation of a full series of North American concerts last summer, as well as the need to reschedule some Japanese dates originally set for last fall.
The band’s “A Different Kind Of Truth” tour will resume with three shows in Japan: the Tokyo Dome on June 21 and Osaka’s City Central Gymnasium on June 24 and 26.
Van Halen recently swept the 2012 hennemusic Rock News Awards, taking top honors in the Rock News Artist Of The Year and Rock News Story Of The Year categories – read more about it here.
