Black Star Riders – featuring former members of Thin Lizzy – have posted an update on the status of their forthcoming debut album.
“The album is currently being mixed as we speak,” writes the band.
“We will announce 2nd week of March full album details (title, release dates per territory, track listing etc). At the end of March there will be the first 'single' release that will have an exclusive airing via certain media outlets - to be announced - prior to public release. Around the same time more tour dates for the autumn will be announced.”
“The album will be released at the end of May. The first Black Star Riders live appearances will be around the same time.”
The group recently completed recording their debut, after less than a month in the studio with producer Kevin Shirley.
After touring the past few years as Thin Lizzy, the lineup adopted the new band name to start the project with a clean slate, and out of respect to the legacy of the late Phil Lynott.
Starting at the end of the month, Black Star Riders are touring Australia – as Thin Lizzy – as the opening act on the KISS/Motley Crue package.
