Van Halen have released a video of a live off-the-floor acoustic version of The Kinks’ classic, “You Really Got Me.”
The “unplugged” session was filmed as part of the bonus DVD, “The Downtown Sessions,” presented with the deluxe edition of last year’s “A Different Kind Of Truth” album
“It’s the first time Van Halen have ever recorded live, much less downtown-style on acoustic guitar,” explains frontman David Lee Roth.
The band’s original, electric cover of “You Really Got Me” was the lead single from Van Halen’s 1978 self-titled debut.
The group return to live action this Saturday, April 20 with a headlining slot at The Stone Music Festival in Sydney, Australia.
