Sammy Hagar’s hometown names street in his honor

Sammy Hagar’s hometown of Fontana, California has named a street after him: Hagar Way.

The announcement was made Saturday as the Red Rocker served as the Honorary Grand Marshal of the Fontana Days Parade, part of the Fontana Days Festival Centennial Celebration.

“That is the most awesome thing,” said Hagar to the Fontana crowd. “You don’t know what that means to me. All over the world, they can give you honors and Grammy Awards and all them things, but something about - in your hometown, having a street named after you – that warms my heart. This is one of my favorite things that have been done for me in my whole career. Thank you.”
