Kid Rock burglary suspect charged with three felonies

A 43-year-old Michigan man has been charged with three felonies after being arrested for an alleged break-in attempt at Kid Rock’s home.

The Detroit Free Press reports Brian D. Keith, who has an extensive criminal history across three states, was charged with attempted home invasion, malicious destruction of a building, and malicious destruction of personal properties; all three are five-year felonies.

Investigators say the suspect caused nearly $30,000 in damages the afternoon of July 31, when he crashed his van through a gate at Rock’s home and tried to break into a garage and the home.

Keith was arrested Saturday at his home after authorities received a tip, police said.

Rock’s security camera caught the gate crashing and attempted burglary. The star was not home at the time and did not appear in court on Tuesday.

The rocker offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case; there’s no word, yet, if the tips received by police that resulted in the suspect’s arrest were a result of Rock’s reward offer.

Keith will be in court on Monday for a pretrial hearing.

Rock is currently on a summer tour in support of his latest album, “Rebel Soul”.
