Stone Temple Pilots announce new EP

Stone Temple Pilots have announced an October 8th release date of a new EP entitled “High Rise.”

Featuring singer Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, the project will contain five new tracks, including "Tomorrow" and the previously-released single, “Out Of Time.”

Stone Temple Pilots publicly fired original singer Scott Weiland in February before regrouping with Bennington to release “Out Of Time.”

The new lineup debuted with a surprise appearance at KROQ Los Angeles radio’s annual Weenie Roast in May; they played a couple of live shows and will launch a fall US tour on September 4 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

"We're very ambitious about the future of making music," said bassist Robert DeLeo. "The process and intention of creating it is so much more gratifying. We've been writing new material and visiting songs from our early albums. It all feels new again and we're excited to get out and play a solid set of songs both old and new."

“I’ve loved STP since I was 13 years old and they’ve had a huge influence on me,” explained Bennington. “When the opportunity came up to do something creative with them, I jumped at the chance. The guys in Linkin Park have been incredibly supportive of me undertaking this project while I’ve continued to work on new music with LP.”
