Fleetwood Mac cancel tour after bassist diagnosed with cancer

Fleetwood Mac have cancelled their upcoming 14 date tour of Australia and New Zealand following news that bassist John McVie has been diagnosed with cancer.

One of the co-founding and original members of Fleetwood Mac, McVie is now scheduled to be in treatment for cancer during that period of time.

"We are sorry to not be able to play these Australian and New Zealand dates,” posted the group. “We hope our Australian and New Zealand fans as well as Fleetwood Mac fans everywhere will join us in wishing John and his family all the best.”

Fleetwood Mac recently completed the European leg of their current world tour.

Earlier this year, the band released the 4-song “Extended Play”, their first new music in 10 years.

Fleetwood Mac were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in 1998.
