VIDEO: Slash jams with students at Brennan Rock & Roll Academy

Slash jammed with the students at the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on September 28, and video from the event is available.

The guitarist joined students for a performance of the Guns N’ Roses version of the Bob Dylan classic, “Knocking On Heaven’s Door.”

“Had a killer time jamming w/some young musicians at Chuck Brennan's Rock n Roll Academy,” posted Slash. “Great institution for a great cause.”

The school provides music education for Boys & Girls Club kids that focuses on Rock & Roll instruments.

Brennan Rock & Roll Academy founder and Dollar Loan Center CEO Chuck Brennan first met Slash at Rockfest in Cadott, Wisconsin, where the guitarist opened for KISS. Earlier that day, KISS made a stop by the Academy for a dedication of the KISS rehearsal rooms.

Brennan and Slash hit it off from the get go and started discussing the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy and the fact that it’s the first-ever free music program for the children of the Boys and Girls Clubs. “Slash was so impressed that he immediately wanted to get involved and show his support to the academy and the kids,” said Brennan before the event. “Slash will be the first celebrity rock star to watch the kids perform and see their concert.”

After the show, Slash met with the students to offer words of encouragement.
