Red Hot Chili Peppers added to Super Bowl halftime show

Bruno Mars has invited the Red Hot Chili Peppers to join him during the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. on February 2.

The news was announced Saturday during Fox's broadcast of the NFC Divisional Round playoff game featuring the New Orleans Saints at Seattle Seahawks.

The Super Bowl halftime show is the most-watched musical event of the year. More than 110.5 million viewers in the U.S. watched last year's show.

The day before Sunday’s event, the Chili Peppers will headline WFAN Sports Radio's "Big Hello To Brooklyn" concert at New York’s Barclays Center.
