Rolling Stones: Mick Jagger pays tribute to L’Wren Scott

Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger has released a statement paying tribute to his late girlfriend, L’Wren Scott, who was found dead of an apparent suicide in her New York apartment on Monday.

“I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way,” Jagger posted on his Facebook page alongside an image of the fashion designer (above). “We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me.”

“I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received,” he added, “I will never forget her, Mick.”

New York police sources say Wren’s body was discovered hanging from a scarf tied to a doorknob in her apartment on 11th Avenue at around 10 a.m. Monday.
