Aerosmith re-record Dream On to honor Boston Marathon victims

Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry have recorded a new arrangement of the band’s 1973 classic, “Dream On”, to honor the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.

Accompanied by the Southern California Children’s Chorus in the video of their signature hit, the song is part of the ESPN special, “Dream On: Stories From Boston’s Strongest”, that will air Saturday on ABC.

Part of the E:60 news magazine series, the hour-long show will be broadcast again on ESPN on Tuesday, the anniversary of the attacks.

Three people were killed and more than 260 were injured when two bombs exploded near the finish line of the 2013 marathon.

The 118th edition of the Boston Marathon will take place on April 21.

Aerosmith performed “Dream On” during the Boston Strong benefit concert last May.

Aerosmith will resume their Global Warming Tour in support of their latest album, "Music From Another Dimension", on May 14 in Istanbul, Turkey.

This week, Aerosmith and Slash announced their Let Rock Rule summer tour of North America.

The pair will hit the road for 21 shows starting July 10 in Wantagh, New York, with dates running to September 12 in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
