Sammy Hagar writing new songs with Foreigner guitarist

Sammy Hagar has teamed up with Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones to work on some new material.

“Mick Jones and myself enjoying a great dinner at El Paseo Restaurant after writing for two days together at my studio,” posted Hagar along with a photo of the pair. “What a blast - old friends getting together and writing some new songs.”

Hagar and Jones have a long shared history in the music industry, including working together on Van Halen’s 1986 album, “5150”, which was produced by the Foreigner axeman.

Hagar is hitting the road for live dates this summer in support of his current album “Sammy Hagar & Friends”, with shows starting May 2 in Lake Tahoe.

Sammy recently released the video for his cover of Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus” from the project.
