Soundgarden stream Superunknown demo from upcoming reissue

Soundgarden are streaming a demo version of the title track from the forthcoming 20th anniversary reissue of their 1994 album, “Superunknown.”

Due June 3, the project features Soundgarden’s breakthrough release; propelled by the singles “Spoonman”, “Black Hole Sun”, “Fell On Black Days”, “My Wave” and “The Day I Tried To Live”, the album debuted at No. 1 in the US and went on to sell more than 9 million copies worldwide, including 5 million in the States alone.

The “Superunknown” reissue will be released in two versions: a 2-CD Deluxe Edition and a 5-CD Super Deluxe Edition – check out the tracklisting for the projects here.

A 2-LP gatefold of the original 16 vinyl tracks remastered on 200-gram vinyl in a gatefold jacket will also be made available.

In addition, the "Superunknown" singles and associated b-sides with newly interpreted artwork sleeves by Josh Graham will be reissued on Record Store Day, April 19, as a set of five limited-edition 10-inch vinyl records.

Earlier this month, Soundgarden played a series of Lollapalooza dates in South America in support of their latest album, “King Animal.” The concerts were the first to feature drummer Matt Chamberlain, who is sitting in with the band this year as Matt Cameron has tour obligations with Pearl Jam.

The Seattle rockers launch a European tour in Istanbul, Turkey on June 6, and then team up with Nine Inch Nails for a summer tour of North America with dates starting July 19 in Las Vegas.
