VIDEO: Rush premiere unreleased song The Loser

Rush are premiering a 1974 performance of an unreleased song, “The Loser”, as a preview to their 40th anniversary box set, “R40”, due November 11.

The track features original Rush drummer John Rutsey and the band in concert at Laura Secord Secondary School in St. Catharines, Ontario.

It’s the second unreleased song issued from the collection, following “I’ve Been Running.”

“R40” will present the group’s full 8-song set from the show as part of a disc of bonus material recorded throughout their career.

Available as 6-disc and 10-disc packages, “R40” includes “Rush In Rio”, “R30”, “Snakes & Arrows Live”, “Time Machine 2011: Live In Cleveland” and “Clockwork Angels Tour”, plus a bonus disc of previously unseen and unreleased live material stretching from 1974 to 2013.
