Rush: Neil Peart No One’s Disciple documentary trailer released

The official trailer has been released for “Neil Peart: No One's Disciple”, a new documentary about late Rush drummer Neil Peart.

The film documents the late Canadian musician's tough start as a young artist, followed by his meteoric rise. The film includes interviews with Rush co-founders Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, alongside reflections of other acclaimed drummers.

It also features Lee and Lifeson's new live performances of Rush classics – with the likes of The Police’s Stewart Copeland, Tool’s Danny Carey, Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Gavin Harrison of Porcupine Tree and King Crimson filling Peart's seat at the drum kit.

Directed by Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn – who previously directed the 2010 Rush documentary "Beyond The Lighted Stage" – the project will premiere on September 16 at the Toronto International Film Festival, with a subsequent public screening on September 19.

It will also air on Canada's CBC network on September 23 as part of the series "The Passionate Eye".

The 2026 Toronto International Film Festival runs from September 10 through September 20.

Peart passed away in January of 2020 at the age of 67 after a three-and-a-half year battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer known as Glioblastoma.

Lee and Lifeson recently returned to action under the Rush banner: the “50 Something Tour” has been built as a tribute to the iconic drummer, with the duo joined by acclaimed drummer Anika Nilles and keyboardist Loren Gold.

The special "evening with" performances feature two sets each night, with Rush building every setlist from a catalogue of 40 songs for this tour spanning the band's celebrated five-decade career.

Rush add four US dates to Fifty Something Tour

Rush have added four new US cities to their Fifty Something Tour.

Arena shows have been added in Houston, St. Louis, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh.

“When we initially booked this tour we didn’t know how well we would hold up to the rigours of the road,” says Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, “so we played it safe with lots of days off to recover – but life is nothing if not surprising and we’re doing fine and having a blast – so why not try to hit a few more of the cities that have always treated us so well.”

Tickets and VIP for these four new dates will go on sale on Friday, September 4 at 10 a.m. local time, with presales beginning Tuesday, September 1 at 10 a.m. local.

Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets beginning Tuesday, September 1 at 10 a.m. local time until Thursday, September 3 at 10 p.m. local time through the Citi Entertainment program.

“Neil Peart: No One's Disciple” – a new documentary about late Rush drummer Neil Peart – will see its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month.

Directed by Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn – who previously directed the 2010 Rush documentary "Beyond The Lighted Stage" – the film will premiere on September 16 at TIFF, with a subsequent public screening on September 19.

Rush film Toronto shows for possible concert movie

Geddy Lee has revealed that Rush will film their ‘residency’ in Toronto this week for a possible concert movie.

“Get practicing your air drumming skills!,” wrote Lee on the Rush Instagram site. “Decide what Rush swag you’ll wear! We’re filming all 4 shows in Toronto!!!!

“It’s always a hard decision as to where to film a live concert. Given the limited cities we are able to play, the demand for such a film has been off the charts, not only as a keepsake of their experience, but for those many fans that have not been able to see it live.

“Toronto being hometown made it a natural choice, and being the last mini-residency of 4 shows, playing over 40 songs which gives us the best chance to capture it all.

“We know there are fans traveling here from all across the globe and that will make it a special week,” adds Lee. “This tour, being a celebration of our history and a tribute to Neil has been an emotional outpouring from the fans and from us. They have been louder and prouder than ever before, and we hope to capture them letting their ya-yas out while rockin’ their best “Tom Sawyer” air drum fills!”

Rush opened its Toronto series at the city’s Scotiabank Arena on August 7, with shows to follow on August 9, 11 and 13.

Rush postpone pair of Texas concerts due to illness

Rush were forced to postpone a pair of concerts at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, TX after frontman Geddy Lee came down with laryngitis and bronchitis.

"To our fans, We are deeply sorry to share that we must postpone our June 30 and July 2 shows,” shared the band on social media. “Geddy has been diagnosed with laryngitis and bronchitis. After being evaluated by his doctors, he has been advised that he needs additional time to rest and recover before returning to the stage.

"This is incredibly disappointing for all of us. We know many of you have made travel plans and have been counting down the days to these shows. Please know this decision was not made lightly. After more than 50 years of touring, we've always believed that if we're going to step on stage, we owe you the very best performance we can give-and right now, that simply isn't possible.

"We're grateful to everyone involved for helping us quickly find new dates to celebrate together. The June 30 show has been rescheduled for July 11. The July 2 show has been rescheduled for July 13.

"All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates. If you are unable to attend, refund information will be available from your original point of purchase.

"Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and for always standing with us. We look forward to seeing you in just a couple of weeks and appreciate your continued support while Geddy makes a full recovery."

The news comes after Rush played the first two of four nights in Fort Worth.

Rush recap Fifty Something Tour launch

Rush are sharing a recap of the launch of its Fifty Something Tour.

On Sunday, Rush co-founders Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson kicked off the highly anticipated tour with the first of 4 sold-out shows at Los Angeles' Kia Forum, marking the band's first tour performance in 11 years.

The show launched a landmark run celebrating more than five decades of Rush music and legacy, bringing the band full circle as Kia Forum was also the site of Rush's final R40 Tour performance on August 1, 2015 with longtime band member Neil Peart who passed away in 2020.

Joined by acclaimed drummer Anika Nilles and keyboardist Loren Gold, Rush opened the show with a signature opening film that pays tribute to and celebrates the band's more than fifty year career and then broke into 11 minute "Xanadu" with both Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson revealed behind the fog with their signature double neck guitars.

Rush performed 2 career-spanning sets, with Night 1 featuring fan favorites including "Limelight," "The Spirit of Radio," "Tom Sawyer" and "YYZ," alongside beloved deep cuts from across the band's legendary catalog such as "By-Tor and the Snowdog."

On Night 2, Rush changed it up with over 9 different songs including "Free Will," "The Trees" and "Closer to the Heart" while kicking off the second set with the entire first side of legendary album “2112” to a spellbound crowd.

Both evenings featured a special guest appearance from Aimee Mann, who joined the band for an emotional performance of "Time Stand Still," the second of two tributes to Neil Peart in the show.

Rush closed both nights with "Working Man" from their self-titled debut album, bringing the opening nights of the Fifty Something Tour to a memorable end and heightened anticipation of what's in store for nights 3 and 4 of their sold out run.

The Fifty Something Tour continues this week with additional sold-out performances at Kia Forum on June 13 before heading to Mexico City, Fort Worth, Chicago, New York, Toronto, and more.

Rush deliver debut performance with new tour drummer

Rush’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson delivered their debut performance with new tour drummer Anika Nilles during a March 29 appearance at the Juno Awards in Hamilton, ON.

The band opened the event with a surprise performance of "Finding My Way", the first track from Rush's 1974 self-titled debut album.

"You really can't ask us what song to play,” Lee told reporters after the appearance. “If we have to choose one song, it's almost impossible. We have so many. So we just asked management, and they said first song, first album."

"Also, it's the only song we know how to play," joked Lifeson.

Rush will return to the stage for a very special headline tour in celebration of the band’s music, legacy, and the life of late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart.

The series notably marks the first time Lee and Lifeson have toured together in eleven years since the finale of Rush’s R40 Tour on August 1, 2015 at the Forum in Los Angeles, CA, bringing it full circle with a return for four shows at the venue to launch the series in early June.

Rush is streaming video of “The Body Electric” from the just-released reissue of its 1984 album, “Grace Under Pressure.”

Newly edited from the original camera masters and newly remastered in HD, the performance comes from the new concert video – “Grace Under Pressure Tour: Live In Toronto 1984” - found on the Super Deluxe boxset of the package.

Rush extend reunion tour into 2027

Rush have extended their Fifty Something Tour into 2027.

Last fall, Rush co-founders Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson announced their return to the stage for a very special Fifty Something Tour in Canada, US and Mexico in 2026 in celebration of Rush’s music, legacy, and the life of late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart. The response was overwhelming with the initial 22 dates selling out immediately, which encouraged additional shows, resulting in a total of 58 shows in 24 cities and over half a million tickets sold for 2026.

Today the band are ecstatic to announce the addition of South America, the United Kingdom and Europe tour dates to the Fifty Something tour, in early 2027. The dates will be the first time the band has played in Europe since 2013 and 17 years since visiting South America.

Performing 24 shows across 13 countries, these special “evening with” shows will find the band playing two sets each night. Each show will feature a distinct selection of songs and Rush will build each night’s setlist from a catalogue of 40+ songs including their greatest hits and fan favorites.

For Fifty Something, Lee and Lifeson will be accompanied by German drummer, composer, and producer Anika Nilles, who has performed as Jeff Beck’s drummer for over 60 shows and has released four solo albums; the band will also be joined by keyboard player Loren Gold (The Who, Roger Daltrey).

“We can’t wait to get back to all these cities we haven’t played in so long, as well as hitting some new places we’ve yet to play,” says Lee. “Both Alex and I are loving the hours of rehearsal time we’re spending with Anika and now Loren, learning around 40 songs which will enable us to keep the shows evolving, playing some different songs on different nights. We are thrilled that many of our longstanding crew have come back to help us design the kind of Rush show that fans have grown accustomed to expect from us. Rush will release new Super Deluxe Editions of the band's 1984 album, “Grace Under Pressure,” on March 13.

Originally released in April 1984 and launched with the lead single, “Distant Early Warning”, the band’s tenth studio album was co-produced by Rush with Peter Henderson and recorded as the fourth in a series of Rush recording sessions ultimately held at Le Studio in Morin-Heights, Quebec as that saw the trio shifting gears to construct eight technology-driven tracks that were forward driving compositions from their previous works.

Although “Grace Under Pressure” was the first Rush studio album not produced by Terry Brown after a decade long healthy working relationship, CD2 now features Brown's brand-new stereo mix of the album, as created from the original studio album's analog multitracks.

CD3 and CD4 present the first-ever complete setlist of the show Rush performed on September 21, 1984, at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, which was also newly mixed from the original multitrack audio masters and has now been retitled “Grace Under Pressure Tour: Live in Toronto 1984.”

The Blu-ray features the above concert on video newly edited & newly remastered in HD with the audio soundtrack offered in 48kHz/24-bit Dolby Atmos, 96kHz/24-bit Dolby TrueHD 5.1, and 96kHz/24-bit PCM stereo options, all newly mixed by Terry Brown. Its previous incarnation as 1986's Grace Under Pressure Tour concert home video and CD was somewhat incomplete, and this new full concert experience features 37 minutes of unreleased performances.

Also on the Blu-ray, the full 1984 studio album is newly mixed in 48kHz/24-bit Dolby Atmos and 96kHz/24-bit Dolby TrueHD 5.1 by longtime band associate, producer/engineer Richard Chycki, from the original album's multitracks along with the newly remastered 192kHz/24-bit and 96kHz/24-bit PCM stereo.

Additionally, on the Blu-ray, Terry Brown's new album remix is presented in 96kHz/24-bit PCM stereo, along with the band's music videos for "Distant Early Warning," "Afterimage," "The Enemy Within," and "The Body Electric," all of which have been visually remastered in HD and presented in 96kHz/24-bit Dolby TrueHD 5.1 and 48kHz/24-bit PCM stereo. ("The Enemy Within" was the very first music video shown by Canadian TV channel MuchMusic, now known as Fuse, on August 31, 1984.)

The Super Deluxe Edition of Grace Under Pressure will also include new liner notes penned by Geddy Lee, reflecting on his memories of finding a new producer for the album and reminiscing on a recent re-listen of the album proper. Original album designer Hugh Syme re-imagines the original album cover along with creating brand-new illustrations for each of the album's eight songs and other related visual elements in the book. Exclusive bonus collectibles in the box include a custom acrylic Grace Under Pressure LED light-up display; a replica of the Grace Under Pressure tour book; a replica Maple Leaf Gardens/Toronto show concert ticket; a Grace Under Pressure Tour total access backstage pass; "Pressure Release" a replica of the 6-page press release; three bandmember live photo lithos; and a poster from the Toronto show. All contents are housed in a premium lift-top box.

The second Grace Under Pressure configuration will be released in is a five-LP plus Blu-ray Super Deluxe Edition, which is the analog equivalent of the four-CD edition. The LPs in the Super Deluxe Edition have been cut at Abbey Road Studios and pressed on 180-gram audiophile black vinyl at GZ Media in the Czech Republic.

Both the 4LP + Blu-ray and 5LP + Blu-ray Super Deluxe Editions will also be offered at the Rush Backstage online store with 3 exclusive bonus lithos of Hugh Syme's new illustrations.

The third Grace Under Pressure configuration will be the Super Deluxe Digital Edition, which is the digital equivalent to the physical Super Deluxe Edition audio tracks.

The fourth configuration, the Dolby Atmos Digital Edition, is the digital equivalent of Richard Chycki's Atmos mix of all eight tracks from the original 1984 album.

Finally, the fifth configuration is the Grace Under Pressure Tour: Live in Toronto 1984 newly edited, mixed and visually remastered in HD concert video made available to video DSPs.

Rush add more dates to Fifty Something Tour

Rush has added 17 more dates to its “Fifty Something” 2026 Tour.

The update follows the original announcement by co-founders Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson that they will return to the stage for a very special headline tour in celebration of the band’s music, legacy, and the life of late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart, and more recently, the expansion of the series to more cities across North America.

"We are blown away from the response to the announcement we made a few weeks ago that we're going back on tour," shared Lee in a new video message. "I cannot tell you how surprising and overwhelmed we are and the way you guys have welcomed Anika Nilles into the Rush family has been very heartwarming, and I know that she's very appreciative of that.

"We're even more excited to get back on stage and play with her and to go through the plethora of songs that we're planning."

Pre-sales for the new dates start Monday, October 27 at 12 p.m. local time, with general public tickets onsale Friday, October 31 at 12 p.m. local time.

Rush expand Fifty Something Tour

Rush has expanded its “Fifty Something” 2026 Tour “due to incredible demand.”

Co-founders Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson recently announced their return to the stage for a very special headline tour in celebration of the band’s music, legacy, and the life of late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart.

The series notably marks the first time Lee and Lifeson have toured together in eleven years since the finale of Rush’s R40 Tour on August 1, 2015 at the Forum in Los Angeles, CA, bringing it full circle with a return to the Forum to embark upon these special shows.

Peart passed away in January of 2020 at the age of 67 after a three-and-a-half year battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer known as Glioblastoma.

Lee and Lifeson will be accompanied by German drummer, composer, and producer Anika Nilles, who has performed as Jeff Beck’s drummer for over 60 shows and has released four solo albums.

Rush have added two new dates in LA, Chicago, NYC, Toronto, and Fort Worth, and an additional date in Cleveland.

Rush members reunite for 2026 North American tour

Rush co-founders Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have announced their return to the stage for a very special 2026 headline tour, Fifty Something, in celebration of the band’s’s music, legacy, and the life of late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart.

It notably marks the first time Lee and Lifeson have toured together in eleven years since the finale of Rush’s R40 Tour on August 1, 2015 at the Forum in Los Angeles, CA, bringing it full circle with a return to the Forum to embark upon these special shows.

“It’s been over 10 years since Alex and I have performed the music of Rush alongside our fallen bandmate and friend Neil,” says Lee. “A lifetime’s worth of songs that we had put our cumulative hearts and souls into writing, recording and playing together onstage. And so, after all that has gone down since that last show, Alex and I have done some serious soul searching and come to the decision that we ******* miss it, and that it’s time for a celebration of 50-something years of Rush music. So in 2026, my BFF Lerxst (aka Alex Lifeson) and I are going to hit the road once again to pay tribute to our past and to Neil by performing a vast selection of Rush songs in a handful of cities. No small task, because as we all know Neil was irreplaceable.

“Yet life is full of surprises, and we have been introduced to another remarkable person; an incredible drummer and musician who is adding another chapter to our story while continuing her own fascinating musical journey. Her name is Anika Nilles, and we could not be more excited to introduce her to our loyal and dedicated Rush fanbase, whom, we know, will give her every chance to live up to that near impossible role. Before we hit the stage, we also hope to add another musician or two to expand our sound a wee bit and free up Alex and I, in order to show off some of our new fancy dance steps.

“Lerxst, Anika and myself, along with many of our longstanding crew members have been hard at work rehearsing and designing the kind of Rush show you’ve grown accustomed to expect from us. We dearly hope you will come along and help us celebrate our history together.”

Rush will perform multiple shows in 7 cities across Canada, the United States and Mexico, beginning June 7, 2026 at The Kia Forum in Los Angeles. These special “evening with” shows will find the band playing two sets each night. Each show will feature a distinct selection of songs and Rush will build each night’s setlist from a catalogue of 35 songs including their greatest hits and fan favorites.

For Fifty Something, Lee and Lifeson will be accompanied by German drummer, composer, and producer Anika Nilles, who has performed as Jeff Beck’s drummer for over 60 shows and has released four solo albums.

Artist Presales for this tour are hosted by multiple ticketing sites but anyone who signs up can join the sale. For Artist Presales on Ticketmaster, no code is needed – access is tied to your account.

The Artist Presale on SeatGeek for Cleveland will require a code. The Artist Presale begins on Monday, October 13 at 12PM local time in the US and Canada and Thursday, October 16 at 12PM local time in Mexico.

Additional presales include Citi cardmembers.American Express, and Banamex (Mexico City).

Tickets will go on sale to the general public Friday, October 17 at 12pm local time for the US and Canada, and 11am local time for Mexico.
