AC/DC debut Rock Or Bust in US Top 5

AC/DC have debuted at No. 3 on the US Billboard 200 album chart with “Rock Or Bust.”

Billboard reports the band sold 174,00 copies in its opening week to claim third spot behind Pentatonix (“That’s Christmas To Me”) and Taylor Swift (“1989”).

“Rock Or Bust” is AC/DC’s ninth US top 10; their previous release – 2008’s “Black Ice” – delivered the group its first US No. 1 with first week sales of 784,000.

The US chart news follows a No. 1 debut for the project in Australia and a No. 3 start in the UK.

AC/DC’s first album in 6 years was recorded this past spring at Vancouver’s Warehouse Studio with producer Brendan O’Brien (Aerosmith, Pearl Jam) and engineer Mike Fraser.
