VIDEO: Metallica perform 1983 classic at the X Games in Austin

Metallica are sharing footage of a performance of their 1983 classic, “Whiplash”, at the 2015 X Games in Austin, Texas on June 6.

The band’s video highlight package also includes guitarist Kirk Hammett, bassist Rob Trujillo and drummer Lars Ulrich in the meet and greet, and the group warming up in the Tuning Room before the show.

“Whiplash” was the band’s lead single from their debut album, “Kill ‘Em All.”

The X Games appearance also saw Hammett and James Hetfield team up for ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ prior to the Moto X Speed & Style competition at the annual extreme sports event.

Metallica have released audio of their headline concert at the X Games, with proceeds from the show’s download going to assist the victims of the recent floods in Texas.

The band are donating all money raised from the sale of the downloads of the June 6 show to the American Red Cross of Central Texas.

All formats of the download – including the high definition versions – are being offered at LiveMetallica.com for a discounted price of $5.00 each through July 15.

Metallica’s next scheduled show is at Lollapalooza in Chicago on August 1.
