Heart singer Ann Wilson will release a solo EP and head out on tour for live shows this fall.
The project – billed as “The Ann Wilson Thing” – will see the rocker issue an EP next month ahead of a series of fall tour dates.
"I already am honored to sing for Heart,” she says, “and now I get the opportunity to stretch out on my own and see what it can bring. I am blessed to have these magical opportunities to let my soul sing out."
The live shows – which begin at Solana Beach, California’s Belly Up Tavern on September 21 – will reportedly see Wilson deliver a mix of solo material, select cover tunes and a few Heart classics.
“I’m excited to play unusual songs in small places,” Ann explains. “I am excited to push my creative and vocal boundaries.
“I love the blues,” she adds. “The Ann Wilson Thing gives me an opportunity to rock the blues up close and personal.”
Wilson married Dean Wetter in Topanga, California in April.
Heart are currently on the road playing dates across North America.
