Megadeth announce UK tour

Megadeth have announced a co-headlining UK tour with Lamb Of God.

The trek will coincide with the release, later this year, of Megadeth’s 15th studio album, while Lamb Of God will issue their latest, “VII: Sturm und Drang”, on July 24.

The 5-date fall run will see Chris Adler performing double-duty with both acts as the longtime Lamb Of God player is also the current studio drummer for Megadeth.

“Having just finished an amazing record full of high-energy heavy metal with Chris Adler, Kiko Loureiro and David Ellefson,” says Dave Mustaine, “I am excited to announce this tour and see all of the metal fans come out for this one. I literally can’t wait to hit the stage again!”

“I have to say that it’s definitely exciting to be announcing this one!,” adds Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton. “It’s been almost a decade since we’ve had the opportunity to tour with Megadeth, and we’re absolutely thrilled to be teaming up with them once again for these very special UK dates.

“Also appearing will be our good friends and long time co-conspirators Children Of Bodom and Sylosis. This lineup is unstoppable! If you’re not stoked about this bill, then you very simply do not like heavy metal! Take a plane, take a boat, hitch a ride, take the tube, bring your Wellies…see you there!”

Tickets for the tour will go on sale Friday, July 17 at 9am GMT.

Megadeth’s 15th album will feature Adler and new guitarist Kiko Loureiro.

“We have 15 tracks — 13 originals and two cover songs,” frotnman Mustaine revealed recently. “We did ‘Melt the Ice Away’ by Budgie and ‘Foreign Policy’ by Fear.”

A release date for the project is to be announced.
