VIDEO: Roger Waters performs Pink Floyd classics at MusiCorps benefit

Roger Waters performed several Pink Floyd classics at Music Heals, a benefit concert for MusiCorps held at Washington, D.C.'s DAR Constitution Hall on October 16.

Waters was joined by special guests Billy Corgan, Tom Morello and members of the MusiCorps Band, made up of wounded military veterans.

The 2.5 hour, 20-song set opened with the first-ever live performance of Pink Floyd's 1982 single, "When The Tigers Broke Free", written for “The Wall” and included in the feature film but left off the legendary double album.

Morello joined Waters for a pair of Floyd tracks – “Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I-V)” and “Money”, before delivering a version of Bruce Springsteen’s “The Ghost Of Tom Joad”, which he also recorded with Rage Against The Machine.

Corgan then took the stage for three more Floyd tunes before returning to join in on “Comfortably Numb” and the show-closer, a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Forever Young.”

Earlier in the set, another Dylan tune – “Blowin’ In The Wind” – saw the band perform live while Sheryl Crow appeared on tape to sing vocals with veteran Tim Donley.

Based at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center outside of Washington, MusiCorps is a non-profit charitable organization which helps wounded veterans play music and recover their lives. The conservatory-level program enables the wounded to learn, relearn, and perform music as a core part of their rehabilitation.

On November 20, Waters will release a companion soundtrack album to his forthcoming concert film, “The Wall.”

Available on 2CD, 3LP vinyl and digitally, the set captures Waters’ sold-out 2010-2013 “The Wall Live” tour where he delivered the first complete staging of the classic Pink Floyd concept album since 1990. The 219-show run earned approximately $458 million dollars in box office revenue.

The companion soundtrack arrives ahead of the concert film of the same name directed by Waters and Sean Evans, which will be issued on December 1.
