Foo Fighters cancel European tour following Paris attacks

The Foo Fighters have cancelled the remaining dates on their European tour following the terrorist attacks in Paris on Friday.

“It is with profound sadness and heartfelt concern for everyone in Paris that we have been forced to announce the cancellation of the rest of our tour,” said the group. “In light of this senseless violence, the closing of borders, and international mourning, we can't continue right now.

“There is no other way to say it. This is crazy and it sucks. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was hurt or who lost a loved one.”

The cancellation affects the final four dates of the Foos run in support of “Sonic Highways”, including shows in Italy, Spain and two in France - Paris on November 16 and Lyon on November 17.

Religious extremists unleashed a co-ordinated assault on several sites around Paris Friday evening, including an Eagles Of Death Metal show at the Bataclan concert hall.

Latest reports indicate 129 people were killed and hundreds injured in the attacks.
