Scorpions land six album reissues on German charts

The Scorpions have placed six of their expanded reissues on the German album charts.

Radio And Music reports the group’s 50th Anniversary Deluxe Editions series has delivered the band a new chart landmark in their home country.

1982’s “Blackout” debuted at No. 43, 1984’s “Love At First Sting” at No. 46, 1985’s “World Wide Live” at No. 52, 1979’s “Lovedrive” at No. 59; 1978’s “Tokyo Tapes” at No. 70 and the “Scorpions Deluxe Vinyl Box Set” enters at No. 97.

The feat makes the Scorpions just the fifth music act to have six or more albums place on the German charts at the same time; previous artists to have achieved the milestone include The Beatles, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and James Last.

The expanded reissue series include previously unheard studio tracks and booklets featuring rare photos and, single covers, backstage passes and additional liner notes; five of the eight albums include a DVD with live concert footage, TV performances and interviews from the period.

The Scorpions launched a winter European tour in Rome, Italy on November 9.
