Iron Maiden announce first shows in China

Iron Maiden will play their first-ever concerts in China this spring.

As part of The Book of Souls World Tour, the band will perform at Beijing’s LeSports Center on April 24 and Shanghai’s Mercedes-Benz Arena on April 26.

Tickets will go on sale on January 19 at 2pm local time via Damai.cn

Iron Maiden will kick off the global trek in support of 2015’s double-album, “The Book Of Souls”, with three US concerts starting February 24 in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

The shows in China land at the end of a second series of US dates this spring and before the group performs in New Zealand and Australia.

Produced by Kevin Shirley and recorded in Paris in 2014, the band’s 16th album delivered Iron Maiden a No. 4 debut on the US Billboard 200 with opening week sales of 75,000 copies.

The tally scores the band’s best US week since Nielsen Music started tracking sales in 1991, and the showing equals Iron Maiden’s best chart ranking ever – matching the No. 4 placement of 2010’s “The Final Frontier.”

The project also topped three separate charts in their native UK upon its release, scoring No. 1 positions on the UK albums, Official Vinyl Albums and the Official Record Store charts.
