Motorhead: German postal service issues Lemmy tribute stamps

The German postal service is honoring late Motorhead leader Lemmy Kilmister with a new series of limited-edition postage stamps.

The collection of 10 stamps is a collaboration between Deutsche Post and Germany’s Bild newspaper.

“The German official post office Deutsche Post together with Bild are honoring our beloved late Lemmy Kilmister with an official set of German postage stamps for standard size letters,” says Motorhead. “One stamp package contains 10 stamps, five Lemmy motifs altogether and everyone can compile the stamps the way they like. These stamps are limited to 7777 - Lemmy’s lucky seven - and will be available for four weeks only, between May 17 and June 17."

These stamps are can be purchased via www.aktion.bildplus.de and are only available in Germany.

Lemmy passed away at his Los Angeles home on December 28 at the age of 70.

Motorhead will release a new live package, “Clean Your Clock”, on June 10.

The set captures the band over two shows at the Zenith in Munich, Germany last November on what turned out to be their final tour.

“Clean Your Clock” will be available in multiple formats, including Blu-ray/CD and DVD/CD combos, CD, colored vinyl, digital download and two box set options: one with the DVD/CD and colored vinyl which includes a Motorhead Metal Medal, and a limited-edition package offering the Motorhead Medal in Silver or Gold.
