AC/DC have announced plans to launch Thunderstruck Tequila.
Due to hit store shelves in mid-2016, the band has teamed with Mexico’s Fabrica de Tequilas Finos, S. A. de C.V. (FTF) to create a line of tequila that will be available in Silver, Reposado and Añejo and will retail from $29.99 to $39.99.
Located in Tequila, Mexico, Fabrica de Tequilas Finos, S. A. de C.V. (FTF)carries on an unbroken tradition of producing fine handcrafted tequilas dating back to 1905. This environmentally friendly state-of-the-art distillery produces tequila made from only the finest ingredients including organically produced 100% Blue Weber Agave with water drawn from a deep Artesian well.
Thunderstruck Tequila is not AC/DC's first foray into the beverage industry: in 2015, the group released its own beer, four years after launching its first wine range. An AC/DC High Voltage energy drink is also part of the band's beverage portfolio.
AC/DC announce the new beverage line as it prepares to wrap up its 13-show European tour in Dusseldorf, Germany on June 15.
The spring tour kicked off with the debut of Axl Rose in Lisbon on May 7 at center stage in place of Brian Johnson, who stepped aside from live performances in March on the advice of doctors in order to prevent further damage to his hearing.
Rose and will rejoin the band this fall for the newly-announced rescheduled US Rock Or Bust dates.
