Guns N’ Roses name The Cult, Skrillex and others as openers

Guns N’ Roses have added four more artists to the list of opening acts that will join them on their summer stadium tour of North America.

Rising country star Chris Stapleton will joins GNR in Nashville, TN on June 9; local boys Billy Talent will open in Toronto, ON on July 16; The Cult will appear on four dates in late July/early August in Atlanta, Orlando, New Orleans and Arlington, TX, while Skrillex will perform in Houston on August 5.

Previously announced acts on the summer trek include Alice In Chains, who will open the first five dates of the Not In This Lifetime tour, while Lenny Kravitz is on board for two pairs of shows in Foxborough, MA and East Rutherford, NJ in mid-July.

Artists for the remaining nine concerts are still to be announced.

The trek will see the reunited trio of Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan perform material from the band’s legendary albums, including 1987’s smash “Appetite For Destruction” – the biggest selling debut album of all time with more than 30 million copies sold worldwide.

The GNR lineup is rounded out by guitarist Richard Fortus, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and drummer Frank Ferrer alongside new addition, keyboardist Melissa Reese.

Rose is rejoining the group after stepping in to assist AC/DC with a spring tour of Europe in place of Brian Johnson that saw the singer earn rave reviews over the 13-show run.
