VIDEO: Guns N’ Roses play Slash birthday show in New Jersey

Guns N’ Roses celebrated guitarist Slash’s 51st birthday on Saturday with the first of two shows on their Not In This Lifetime tour at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.

Following the debut 2016 performance of the “Chinese Democracy” track “Catcher In The Rye” during their second show at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA, the band returned to their standard 24-song set for the thirteenth date on the summer reunion run by Slash, Axl Rose and Duff McKagan.

The shows mark the first time that the trio have performed together since a July 17, 1993 date at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

“Incredible crowd at Metlife Stadium tonight!,” tweeted Slash after the concert. “Awesome energy! Thank you! Can't wait to do it again tomorrow! RnFnR!”

Guns N’ Roses will perform second of two shows at MetLife Stadium with opener Lenny Kravitz tonight (July 24).

The summer tour will wrap up at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, CA on August 22.
