Green Day announce tour of Australia and New Zealand

Green Day will be bringing their Revolution Radio world tour to Australia and New Zealand in 2017.

The band have announced five shows in Australia and one in New Zealand for the 2-week trek, which opens April 30 in Perth, with stops in Adelaide, Melbourne Brisbane and Sydney before wrapping up in Auckland on May 13.

The run marks Green Day’s first headline dates in the region since 2009’s sold-out “21st Century Breakdown” tour.

A Green Day Idiot Nation presale begins October 11 at 2pm local time, while a Frontier Touring presale starts October 13 at 2pm local time.

General public tickets will go on sale October 18 at 10am local for the Australian shows, and October 18 at noon local for the Auckland date.

Green Day recorded their 12th album at frontman Billie Joe Armstrong’s new studio in Oakland, CA.

The group are currently playing dates on the Revolution Radio North American club tour, which opened at the Newport Music Hall in Columbus, OH on September 26 after the band postponed the first three dates due to an illness “affecting several members of the band and its crew.”
