Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry announces solo dates

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry has announced a series of live dates in support of his recently released solo album, “Sweetzerland Manifesto.”

Billed as “Joe Perry And Friends”, the rocker will be joined at shows next month in Boston, MA, Hampton Beach, NH and Atlantic City, NJ by his Aerosmith bandmate Brad Whitford on guitar with Gary Cherone of Extreme handling lead vocals; the first two gigs will also include sets from special guests Charlie Farren (onetime lead singer of The Joe Perry Project) and former Boston guitarist Barry Goudreau's Engine Room.

Tickets for all three shows will go on sale Friday, March 16 at 10 AM EDT.

“Sweetzerland Manifesto” sees Perry collaborating with guest vocalists Robin Zander of Cheap Trick, David Johansen and Terry Reid, and others including Johnny Depp, Zak Starkey and his own sons Tony and Roman Perry.

The Aerosmith guitarist’s first full studio record since 2009’s “Have Guitar, Will Travel” was recorded at Studio 1480 in Los Angeles and produced by Perry and Bruce Witkin, with Johnny Depp serving as executive producer and additional help from longtime Aerosmith associate Jack Douglas, who co-wrote and co-produced a number of tracks.

Perry launched the record at The Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles on January 16 with a live set alongside an all-star lineup that included Reid, Johansen, Cherone, members of Stone Temple Pilots, Robin Zander of Cheap Trick, Slash, Johnny Depp and former Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson.
