Bruce Springsteen adds 81 shows to Broadway run

Bruce Springsteen has extended his sold-out “Springsteen On Broadway” solo shows at the intimate Walter Kerr Theatre in New York City with 81 newly-added dates that will see the production run to December.

It’s the third extension for the series, which began last fall and was originally set to wrap up last month before being scheduled through June 30.

The addition of 81 shows will see Springsteen perform a total of 236 performances by the time he delivers his final Broadway show on December 15.

Tickets for the newly-announced “Springsteen On Broadway” shows will go on sale Wednesday, March 28th at 11am ET – exclusively through Ticketmaster Verified Fan.

“Springsteen On Broadway” has drawn exceptional demand since its first announcement. In order to recognize the tremendous number of fans who previously participated but have not had the opportunity to shop for tickets, for this onsale, only fans who previously registered, and have not purchased tickets, will be eligible to receive an invitation to the onsale. Eligible fans will receive additional information on Monday, March 26th to prepare in advance.

A digital lottery will continue to operate through the extension for fans interested in purchasing tickets after the March 28 onsale; for details, visit luckyseat.com.

“I wanted to do some shows that were as personal and as intimate as possible,” said Springsteen last summer when he announced the original dates. “I chose Broadway for this project because it has the beautiful old theaters which seemed like the right setting for what I have in mind. In fact, with one or two exceptions, the 960 seats of the Walter Kerr Theatre is probably the smallest venue I’ve played in the last 40 years.

“My show is just me, the guitar, the piano and the words and music. Some of the show is spoken, some of it is sung. It loosely follows the arc of my life and my work. All of it together is in pursuit of my constant goal to provide an entertaining evening and to communicate something of value.”
