Lenny Kravitz announces new album Raise Vibration

Lenny Kravitz will release his eleventh studio album, “Raise Vibration”, on September 7.

The set follows the rocker’s pattern of playing most of the instruments himself alongside longtime guitarist Craig Ross.

Kravitz found that starting work on the follow-up to 2014’s “Strut” after the completion of a world tour was harder than expected …and it worried him.

“I really wasn’t sure where I was going musically,” he tells Rolling Stone. “After doing this for 30 years, I wasn’t feeling it. I’d never felt that confused about what to do. And it was kind of a scary place. You don’t know when it’s going to come.”

Rather than force the creative issue, Kravitz simply waited things out at his house in the Bahamas until inspiration arrived one night at four in the morning; he popped into his home studio to record a rough draft of a song idea, and the process repeated itself over subsequent nights.

“I realized, ‘This is it,’” he says. “This is what I’d been waiting for. And once I started that process, the floodgates opened and it all started coming out me. I dreamt the whole record.”

Kravitz is previewing the project with a graphic current events video for the lead single, “It’s Enough”, which can be viewed via YouTube.

The performer will begin a European tour in Munich, Germany on May 31, with shows scheduled to the end of July.

Ahead of the trek, Kravitz will issue his 2000 “Greatest Hits” package on vinyl for the first time in the US on May 18.

The set showcases hits from the rocker's first five albums: 1989's “Let Love Rule”, 1991's “Mama Said”, 1993's “Are You Gonna Go My Way”, 1995's “Circus” and 1998's “5”.

Upon its original release, the 15-track collection reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 on its way to US sales of more than 3 million copies while earning Platinum status in more than 15 countries.
