VIDEO: Alex Lifeson performs Rush and Doors classics at California charity event

Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson performed a trio of classics by the legendary Canadian band during an appearance at a charity event in Malibu, CA this past weekend.

As part of the 11th annual Scott Medlock-Robby Krieger Golf Classic's All-Star Concert to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at the Saddlerock Ranch on October 28, Lifeson joined former Chicago bassist Jason Scheff to play Rush’s classic tracks “Limelight”, “The Spirit Of Radio” and “Freewill.”

Lifeson also teamed up with Krieger on a pair of Doors tunes, including “Riders On The Storm” and “Roadhouse Blues.”

The annual benefit concert also featured performances by guitarist Orianthi, Elliott Easton of The Cars, Rami Jaffee of Foo Fighters and Cherie Currie of The Runaways, among others.

The mission of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment – to learn more and/or to donate, visit stjude.org.

Lifeson and Rush will release a series of expanded reissues of their 1978 album, “Hemispheres”, on November 16.

The band’s sixth record featured the epic “Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres” – which encompassed the entirety of Side 1 on the original album and was the continuation of the “Farewell To Kings” track, “Cygnus X-1” – and the longtime concert favorite, “La Villa Strangiato.”

The “Hemispheres” 40th Anniversary series will be available in multiple packages, including the Super Deluxe Edition, the 2CD Deluxe Edition, a 3LP Deluxe Edition, and a Deluxe Digital Edition.
