Rock News Artist Of The Year No. 9 – SAMMY HAGAR

Sammy Hagar opened 2018 with a performance on Rock Legends Cruise 7 in February with his supergroup The Circle, which features bassist Michael Anthony, drummer Jason Boham and guitarist Vic Johnson.

Hagar was inducted into the Bammies Walk Of Fame in San Francisco, CA during a March 23 event; named after the former Bay Area Music Awards presented by BAM magazine, the honor of a plaque in front of the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium recognizes the accomplishments of members of the local music community.

In April, the Red Rocker returned for a third season of “Sammy Hagar’s Rock & Roll Road Trip”, the AXS TV series where the singer travels the US to interview and often perform with some of the most popular and influential musicians.

In July, Bonham confirmed that The Circle had completed recording their debut studio album, while Hagar streamed a video clip featuring a song from the project, which is tentatively expected for release in January of 2019 and entilted “Space Between.”

The Circle remained visible on the road throughout the year, including a headline gig at Hagar’s inaugural “High Tide Beach Party & Car Show” on the shores of Huntington Beach, CA in early October.

The singer also hosted his annual birthday bash concert series at his club in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico as he celebrated his 71st birthday.

The Circle currently have a handful of live dates announced for 2019 so far, with more shows possible once the timing of the release of the group’s album debut has been revealed.
